About the Project

Transforming Fan Culture:

Promoting Respect, Fair Play, and Positive Values in Sports (FCTT) is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Sport project that aims to tackle aggression, hate speech, and violence in sports fan culture by promoting respect, inclusion, and positive values through sport.

The project brings together partners from Greece, Cyprus, Albania, and Kosovo, creating a strong cross-regional collaboration that empowers grassroots sports organisations, fan associations, coaches, young athletes, and local communities to build safer and more inclusive sporting environments.

Sport has the power to unite people, strengthen communities, and promote shared European values. Through FCTT, we aim to transform fan culture into a force for fair play, diversity, active citizenship, and social inclusion.

Project Objectives

The project is built around five core objectives:

  • Promote positive values through sport by equipping organisations with tools that encourage respect, fair play, and inclusion.
  • Foster social inclusion through fan engagement by empowering fans and youth as ambassadors of respectful behaviour.
  • Strengthen the capacity of sports organisations to prevent conflict and manage fan behaviour effectively.
  • Encourage cross-border collaboration among sports organisations and fan communities across partner countries.
  • Develop the Fan Culture Transformation Toolkit (FCTT) as an innovative and sustainable resource for positive fan engagement

Expected Impact

FCTT aims to create long-term change by:

  • reducing violence and hate speech in sports environments
  • increasing youth participation in safe sports spaces
  • strengthening gender equality and inclusion
  • supporting grassroots clubs with sustainable tools
  • promoting sports as a driver of shared European value
